Time Crisis: Razing Storm is the weakest title in the series to date. Voice-acting is terrible and the script is incredibly cheesy. It’s also weak visually and makes very little use of the PS3 hardware. As it stands, this is the poorest Time Crisis game I’ve come across. Improve the AI reaction speed, make them use their weapons more and tighten the controls = a much better game. I don’t know why they chose to take this path when just an extended, smarter arcade mode would have been a million times better than this. It seems that Namco haven’t learned anything, but tried to mimic western FPS like COD with very poor impact. You would think that Move would improve something like Time Crisis, since TC4 was such a disappointment…especially with that ridiculous gun and sensors you had to place on the TV to make it work. It’s also painfully bad to move the camera round, no matter how much you adjust the sensitivity of the controls. The online multiplayer only has a handle of maps and suffers the same problems such as terrible controls and forgettable gameplay. You do get Time Crisis 4 and Deadstorm Pirates to play with too, which makes it look like a good deal, but these games are also weak. This too can be completed in just a few hours and is very poor with its clichéd plot, forgettable characters and yet again, dumb AI. There is a story mode which oddly turns Time Crisis into a FPS that uses the Move controller to work like FPS’ on Wii like Metroid Prime Trilogy or Red Steel, but with very little polish. The classic arcade style mode can be breezed through in no time thanks to being able to continue by pressing a button, it also offers little challenge due to brain dead AI. It has 3 games and online multiplayer added, so what can go wrong?Ībsolutely everything, unfortunately. Editing takes forever though so I’m not sure when I’ll have each of these rolled out but I’ll try and make it soon, before the Vegas Amusement Expo if that is possible.Time Crisis: Razing Storm is your typical game in the series, but with added Move support. I hope to get some footage of Sega’s Transformers Human Alliance here soon and I also have another arcade montage video and some related to Dariusburst in the works. Speaking of new games, I got my hands on the new Batman arcade game by Raw Thrills and here is my review of it. Given how well Deadstorm Pirates has done out West I think there is a pretty good chance that this update could find its way over to us sometime after the Japanese launch. It is scheduled for a Japanese release in March. For the two new stages, one of those is described as a tower level that has a roller coaster style design to it the other is an “eerie fort”. This is not the same as their Deadstorm Pirates 4D+ attraction but an upgrade to existing DSP games.Īside from the obvious differences in the cabinet above (particular the lit-up skull) other differences include the addition of two new stages, the final stage can be picked at the beginning of the game and there is a new ending video, possibly that can mean an alternate ending. In regards to that show, we have our first announcement of what we can expect to see there – Bandai Namco is releasing a new version of their successful Deadstorm Pirates arcade game that is being called Deadstorm Pirates Special Edition. Later this month there will be the EAG Expo in London, UK then next month in Japan is JAEPO where much of what we can expect to see in the Japanese market through the year will be unveiled. With the new year it’s time to get ready for some new game announcements.
